ANDIA WORNES

Andia was born in Kingston, Ontario in 2004 and has been making art on anything she could get her hands on ever since. She has no formal art education but her pieces have been bought by the University of Ottawa, Hotel Dieu, local businesses, and private collectors across the country. In 2022, she moved to Ottawa to attend college and is currently studying Architectural Technologies. She is inspired by post-impressionists as well as modern pop art and expressionism which she blends to paint local landscapes, idyllic still lifes, and portraits. The subjects of her paintings are often influenced by her love of nature and by the people she comes across in her day to day life.

Though she only started painting in 2019, the bulk of her work is now in acrylic. She is always embracing new elements such as paint markers and spray paint to bring a unique flare to the canvas. Before 2019, she mainly used graphite pencil and charcoal to create realistic sketches.
